BACKGROUND :

The Secretariat of the Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) together with the Institute for Population and Social Research and Mahidol University, have commissioned The Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) to develop an evidence package for best buys, wasted buys, and Do-It-Yourselves (DIYs) of NCD prevention. This side meeting will provide the project teams with the opportunity to discuss the feedback provided by NCD managers, experts in this field (reviewers), and journal editors, in the previous side meeting titled “Best buys, wasted buys, and DIYs of NCD prevention: Discussion with knowledge users in the community”. The feedback received can form the basis for the next steps for the project and areas in which to modify the approach

OBJECTIVES :

Objective: To discuss the preliminary review provided by the reviewers, NCD managers, and journal article editors, in the previous side meeting at PMAC 2019 Expected outcome: From this side meeting, we will update our evidence package, drawing on the feedback of reviewers, NCD programme managers, and journal editors who could help advise how to make this work more relevant to knowledge users. Discussion points from the meeting will be captured in a mission report published on the Global HITAP website and meeting minutes that will be circulated to all attendees and absentees.
